The match was played at wilfird on a hot saturday afternoon and we adapted the formation 3-6-1 and it was really a tough and close encounter which could and should have gone in favour of our side. We were losing 2-0 when Explosive wingback Barathi came on for Vinnie and slotted home a cool finish latching on to a Haresh through ball. Although the game was a warfield in the centre of the park, we failed to keep possession and faced an injury blow when Defense Juggernaut Nash was stretchered out with a dislocated shoulder after a malicious tackle. Midfielders switched off , passing was below par and "Captain Fantastic" Achu couldnt orchestrate the midfield as he was playing in cover for the absent Jayraj. After getting down 3-1, a moment of inspiration came when Haresh skinned 3 opponent defenders before slotting the ball pass the keeper's outstretched arms in "messi fashion". But even then we did not show motivation after 3-2 and refused to get our noses in front until the game ended. Haresh later blasted the whole team in the post-team talk stating that he never wants to see that attitude ever again on the pitch. To say, it wasn't really our fault for the 1st and 3rd goal as the referee was showing his inability to official the game. The other 2 was ours to regret. There are lots of mistakes in this one, nothing formation wise but purely a questionable lack of passion between us. I hope we dont see that again and really looking to rekindle the KKZ spirit again. Nash won the MOM for the bravery and performance he displayed.
